Physical health

Quality of life is a broad term that refers to a number of different aspects in life and is not a directly measurable variable. The term “physical health” involves health-related quality of life, which includes perceived well-being, symptoms and functioning in daily activities.

One of the reasons that quality of life measurements have become increasingly common is that the WHO definition of the term “health” has been broadened and not only refers to the absence of illness.

The diseases and illness of today do not usually entail any threat to life, but can have a negative impact on the person’s living situation, such as a reduced capacity to work and less social contact.

The heading of “Physical health” comprises results for the general state of health, motor organ disorders and disability, as well as diabetes, asthma, allergies, severe symptoms from high blood pressure, eczema, tinnitus, incontinence, overweight or obesity and gastrointestinal disorders.
