2011 IANPHI Annual Meeting

On September 25-26 public health leaders from around the world gather in Helsinki, Finland, for IANPHI’s 2011 Annual Meeting.

Among the topics to be addressed are Non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, and the role of Public Health Institutes in disaster recovery. National Public Health Institute Directors from more than 70 countries and representatives from the World Health Organization and other IANPHI partners will attend.

The Swedish National Institute of Public Health Director, Sarah Wamala, will chair a Plenary on Social Determinants of Health. The session will give an introduction to the topic, followed by discussion. The aim is to broaden the scope and to provide tools for advocacy for participant Public Health Institutes.
